PKR secretary-general Fuziah Salleh has said that she will not be contesting for any position in the party election this time.
Fuziah, who is also deputy domestic trade and cost of living minister, said she will focus on the management of the party as requested by party president Anwar Ibrahim.
"I have not contested for two terms at the branch level and I've handed over the position of branch head since 2018, so at the branch level, I never contested.
"At the national level, I was asked by the president (Anwar) to focus on party work, to manage the party requires focus, so I am not contesting,” she told reporters when met at the ministry's Pahang branch Aidilfitri celebration today.
Asked about party members appealing against the branch election results, she said the matter would be scrutinised and that the central leadership council is transparent in listening to all complaints raised.
She said the elections were conducted peacefully and smoothly with the use of e-voting and blockchain technology.
Meanwhile, Fuziah advised party members to contest in a healthy and positive manner without bringing down their rivals and described the elections as a contest among "siblings”.
