The Education Ministry will take action against SJKC Chung Hua in Port Dickson for an incident in which the Jalur Gemilang was flown upside down.
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said her ministry is waiting for a full report on the results of the investigation into the incident.
"We have reminded (all) about this issue multiple times - it's not something new.
"So when we receive the full report, we will take strict action," Sinar Harian quoted her as saying after an event at the Education Technology Resource Sector in Pengkalan Chepa, Kelantan.
Staff carelessness
SJKC Chung Hua had apologised for the incident that happened on Aug 1.
In a statement jointly issued by the school board, administration and Parent-Teacher Association, it explained that the error occurred when a school employee was installing flags before the end of their work hours.
"However, due to carelessness, one of the flags was installed upside down.
"This incident was recorded by the public and uploaded to social media.
"The school received the information around 5pm and took corrective measures immediately," it said.
It added that the school is strengthening its monitoring and implementation procedures to prevent a recurrence of the incident.

Multiple incidents
Earlier this year, several issues related to the inaccurate depictions of the national flag cropped up.
They include an incomplete Jalur Gemilang published by Sin Chew Daily and another incomplete flag displayed at a baby expo in Kuala Lumpur.
The Education Ministry also found itself in hot water when multiple flag errors appeared in its SPM Analysis Report, leading to an apology on April 24 and an investigation to probe the mistakes. - Mkini
