High Court grounds of judgment in Najib's rejected house arrest bid

 

Judge Alice Loke's grounds of judgment in rejecting Najib Abdul Razak's bid to be placed under house arrest have been released.

Loke ruled yesterday that Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah's decree granting house arrest to the former prime minister was invalid.

This is as it did not comply with constitutional requirements that the monarch consult on clemency decisions with the Pardons Board.
