SELAYANG: Emotions ran high at the court complex here when a third suspect in an alleged sexual abuse case at a welfare home arrived to face multiple charges.

The suspect, a juvenile who cannot be named under the law, had his head covered with a towel as he was escorted into the lock-up area.

Several parents of the alleged victims shouted in Tamil at him, expressing anger and frustration.

One parent, visibly upset, challenged the suspect to direct his alleged actions at him instead of his son.

Another elderly man condemned the situation, saying: "Harapkan pagar, pagar makan padi."

Some in the crowd also questioned why the suspect's head was covered, shouting for it to be removed, and called for him to be denied bail after being charged. - NST
