PETALING JAYA:
The health ministry says it has no evidence that sensitive data was leaked when its website was hacked last week.

In a statement, the ministry said its healthcare service delivery systems continued to operate as normal and remained protected by a separate infrastructure with strict cybersecurity controls.

“The portal is used solely for the dissemination of corporate and public information and does not store patients’ medical records or health data.

“To date, there is no indication that the incident has affected critical systems or resulted in any sensitive data being leaked,” it said.

The ministry said access to the portal has been temporarily suspended while recovery work is carried out.

It added that it is working closely with the relevant agencies to enhance its security systems and prevent similar incidents.

Last Saturday, the ministry said efforts were under way to restore its website after it was hacked. - FMT
