PETALING JAYA:
A three-year-old boy injured his left foot after it was accidentally run over by a tow vehicle taking part in the 2026 National Day parade in Kuala Terengganu this morning.

The boy’s mother, Puteri Anis Athirah Wan Rosli, 36, from Cendering, said the incident occurred at about 9.45am in front of Wisma Persekutuan, Bernama reported.

She said her son, Che Ku Khairul Amir Che Ku Khairul Azlan, fell before being run over by the tow vehicle carrying a fire and rescue department boat.

“When the boat carrier stopped several times in front of the Wisma, my seven-year-old daughter ran ahead to take photographs. My son followed her.

“When firefighters tried to move him slightly aside for his safety, he fell forward and his foot was run over by the tow vehicle,” she told reporters at the emergency department of Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital.

Puteri Anis said she was relieved that an X-ray showed no broken bones, although her son remained under observation at the hospital.

She also thanked the police for their prompt response and for escorting the ambulance carrying her son to hospital.

“I do not blame any of the firefighters. They were managing the safety and movement of the assets. I know it was an accident and happened because my son was excited,” she said.

Meanwhile, Kuala Terengganu police chief Azli Noor said the exact cause of the incident is still under investigation. - FMT
