PETALING JAYA:
DAP deputy chairman Nga Kor Ming has stood by party secretary-general Loke Siew Fook following his loss in the Chennah seat in the Negeri Sembilan state election.

Nga said in a statement tonight that Loke had led DAP responsibly in facing the “difficult” Negeri Sembilan polls.

“In this challenging time, we stand firmly with Loke. We will remain steadfast in our struggle, face every challenge together and move forward with determination as one team.”

Nga said the defeats in Chennah and Repah were a bitter blow to the party.

However, he said Pakatan Harapan would not give up and would instead conduct a thorough assessment of its performance to identify ways to regain victory in Negeri Sembilan in the future.

He said DAP and PH would continue serving the people and work to regain their confidence and support through their performance and public service.

Nga also thanked all Negeri Sembilan voters who supported PH, as well as voters and election workers who fulfilled their responsibilities during the state election.

Although the outcome was not what PH had hoped for, he said the coalition respected the democratic process and humbly accepted the decision made by the people.

In the Negeri Sembilan election, PH won 11 of the 36 seats contested, with DAP securing nine seats and PKR winning the remaining two. - FMT
