PETALING JAYA:
Rodziah Ismail has become the latest PKR MP to be barred from accessing the MyKhas portal which manages special funding for constituencies.

The Ampang MP said she discovered she could no longer access MyKhas on July 29, adding that this affected her ability to assist and support constituents through programmes and projects.

Rodziah said she was puzzled by the government’s decision as she remained a PKR member and had never declared support for other parties.

“I have also never opposed any government policy or law in Parliament, in line with the mandate I received from Ampang voters in the 2022 general election,” she said in a statement.

Rodziah is the third PKR MP to be barred from accessing MyKhas, after Subang MP Wong Chen and Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung.

All three had attended the launch of Bersama, the new party started by former PKR leaders Rafizi Ramli and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, in May.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim had previously downplayed the matter, saying the constituency funds could go “directly to the rakyat” without involving the MPs.

Rodziah said she had already given the PKR disciplinary board a written explanation about her presence at the Bersama launch but the party has not responded to her.

She questioned why she was being barred from accessing the funds for her constituency when Barisan Nasional MPs who has been outspoken against the government continued to receive funding.

The first-term MP said she would nonetheless continue doing her best to serve the people of Ampang. - FMT
