Razali denies leaving Bersatu to take over Terengganu Pejuang

 Razali Idris says he remains a Bersatu member and threatens legal action over claims that he has joined Pejuang.

Terengganu executive councillor Razali Idris accused a Facebook user of spreading false information by publishing a post congratulating him on the purported Pejuang appointment.

Terengganu executive councillor Razali Idris has denied leaving Bersatu to join Pejuang to lead the party’s state chapter.

Razali maintained that he remains a Bersatu member despite resigning as the party’s Terengganu chief yesterday, labelling claims that he had joined Pejuang as defamatory, Berita Harian reported.

The Kijal assemblyman accused a Facebook user, Khairol Azfar, of spreading false information by publishing a post congratulating him on the purported Pejuang appointment.

Razali gave the Facebook account owner one week from today to remove the post, or he will take legal action.

Yesterday, Razali announced his resignation as Terengganu Bersatu chairman but did not disclose his reason for relinquishing the post. He will also step down as Marang Bersatu chief in mid-September.

Telemong assemblyman Zawawi Ismail and Hulu Besut assemblyman Husaimi Hussin also announced their resignations as Terengganu Bersatu information chief and treasurer, respectively.

However, Razali said he only learned about Zawawi and Husaimi’s resignations through media reports.

Bersatu has faced a string of resignations and has imposed sanctions on multiple leaders following the sacking of former deputy president Hamzah Zainudin in February.

Hamzah has since launched Wawasan, which joined the Perikatan Nasional coalition with Pejuang in June. - FMT
