Boy, 14, crashes car into 2 vehicles in Penang

 The teen crashed into a car parked on a road shoulder before crashing into another travelling in the correct lane.

A viral video of the incident showed the teenager driving the car and crashing into a vehicle before being stopped by members of the public at the scene.

Police have confirmed a viral video showing a 14-year-old boy driving a car and crashing into two vehicles at two separate locations in Taman Chai Leng, Perai, here.

Seberang Perai Tengah police chief Nik Aminuddin Raja Abdullah said the incident occurred at 4.50pm yesterday. A report was lodged at 8.47pm the same day.

“Preliminary investigations found that the teenager, who was driving from Lorong Kurau 23 towards Jalan Kurau 1, first crashed into a car parked on the road shoulder.

“He then continued driving before allegedly entering the wrong side of a one-way road at Lebuh Kurau 5 and crashing into another car travelling in the correct lane,” he said in a statement.

Nik Aminuddin said no injuries were reported.

He said further investigations are ongoing under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.

He advised parents and guardians to monitor their children’s activities and not to allow underage children to drive vehicles as doing so is against the law and could endanger other road users.
