Thirty-one flights to Jakarta have been cancelled at airports nationwide today following the temporary closure of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport due to volcanic ash from the eruption of Anak Krakatau.
Bernama, quoting Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd, reported that the cancellations, based on airline reports as of noon, involved flights scheduled between 6.45am and 11.55pm.
Kuala Lumpur International Airport was the worst affected, with 21 cancellations, followed by Penang International Airport with six. Subang Airport recorded two, while Kuching International Airport and Kota Bharu Airport each recorded one.
Operations at Soekarno-Hatta were suspended until 1.30pm local time today, or 2.30pm Malaysian time.
DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke has said that the party will be hitting its target of fielding at least 30 percent women candidates in the 16th general election.
Speaking at the launch of the DAP Women congress in Putrajaya, he stressed that advancing women’s empowerment is the responsibility of the entire party, not just its women’s wing.

Parti Belia Demokratik Nasional (DemNas) has called for a transparent and comprehensive investigation into the death of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) student Fadhlan Fakry Solana during the Komander Kesatria Endurance Challenge.
In a statement today, the party also urged UiTM to clarify the support available to the student’s family, including insurance or compensation, as well as the status of the event and other participants.
It said accountability must be prioritised to prevent a similar tragedy from recurring. - Mkini
