Implement 40% revenue claim immediately if PAS forms next govt, says Sabah delegate

 Karambunai assemblyman Aliakbar Gulasan says there should be no further negotiations, just implementation.

PAS’s sole elected representative in Sabah, Aliakbar Gulasan, said the state is only asking for what it is entitled to under the Malaysia Agreement 1963.

A Sabah PAS delegate wants the party to implement the state’s constitutional claim to a 40% revenue entitlement with immediate effect should it form the next federal government after the 16th general election.

Aliakbar Gulasan also wants the claim to be implemented without further negotiations.

He said the 40% revenue entitlement was stipulated in the Malaysia Agreement 1963.

“Sabah is not asking for more. Sabah is not asking for gratuity payment. Sabah wants what is enshrined in the Federal Constitution,” the party’s sole elected representative in Sabah said when debating PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang’s policy speech at the party’s muktamar here today.

“God willing, when PAS governs Malaysia, it will not be something to be negotiated, but to be implemented.”

Aliakbar, the Karambunai assemblyman, also called for targeted subsidies under the BUDI Madani initiative to be shelved as they are incompatible with the needs of those in the state.

He said it would be better to subsidise all types of fuel.

Currently, RON95 under the BUDI95 scheme is being sold at RM1.99 per litre, while diesel remains at RM2.10 per litre under the BUDI Diesel initiative.

Subsidised petrol under the subsidised petrol control system (SKPS) remains at RM2.05 per litre, while subsidised diesel under the subsidised diesel control system (SKDS) retails at RM2.15 per litre. - FMT
