Veterans group chief Othman Desa says the DAP members of the Cabinet should separate politics from personal feelings and public responsibility.

Othman Desa, head of the Umno Veterans group, said Loke’s move constituted a threat to the government, and showed that political interests were being placed before their shared responsibility in the unity government.
“We must separate politics from personal feelings and public responsibility. These DAP leaders look like they’re playing around. No sense of sincerity or responsibility to the people,” he told FMT.
Othman, who is an Umno Supreme Council member, said the conditional pardon granted to former prime minister Najib Razak should not be politicised because the decision was the prerogative of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Earlier today, Loke said his decision to resign followed the conditional pardon granted to Najib and that he would be the only DAP leader to resign, to ensure political stability.
He maintained that DAP’s decision that only he should step down was a “responsible one” and that his resignation, if accepted by the prime minister, would not jeopardise the transport ministry’s operations. - FMT
