Perikatan Nasional deputy chairman and PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man says PN and Umno have drawn up a basic framework for seat allocations.

Tuan Ibrahim, who is also PAS’s deputy president, said PN and Umno had discussed seat allocations and drawn up a basic framework for the polls.
“We have a framework, but it needs to be brought to our respective parties for endorsement,” New Straits Times quoted him as saying today.
The Kubang Kerian MP said the negotiations were based on an understanding that parties would keep the seats they had previously won.
“For example, Umno considers a seat it previously won as belonging to it, even if the candidate has since joined PAS. We are trying to understand this principle. There may be room for changes,” he said.
Tuan Ibrahim also said PAS had instructed its Melaka commissioner to compile a list of potential candidates for review by the party’s syura council, which will meet on Friday to determine their eligibility.
The final list is expected to be decided in Perlis on Oct 2.
The Election Commission will meet on Oct 7 to discuss arrangements for the Melaka election following the dissolution of the state legislative assembly on Sept 23. - FMT
