The human resources minister says the platform would make it easier for Malaysian and Indian businesses to network, collaborate and explore investment opportunities.
He said Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, agreed to this during their meeting here today.
Ramanan told reporters here that the platform would make it easier for Malaysian and Indian businesses to network, collaborate and explore investment opportunities.
He said the aim was also to bring more quality investments into Malaysia and create better-paying jobs for Malaysians.
“This platform is not just about connecting the business communities of both countries,” he said at a news conference. “We want every partnership and investment that comes from it to eventually translate into job opportunities, better skills and higher incomes for Malaysians.”
Ramanan said there was room for Malaysia to work more closely with India in areas such as technology, the digital economy, semiconductors, professional services and manufacturing.
Anwar and Modi had also discussed closer cooperation in the semiconductor industry, including investments, training workers and linking companies in the supply chain. They also discussed ways to increase trade and investment, as well as make it easier for Malaysian goods to enter the Indian market.
India is Malaysia’s largest trading partner in South Asia. Trade between the two countries stood at RM79.49 billion in 2025. - FMT
