
IPOH: A slope collapse at KM263.6 of the North-South Expressway, heading south from the Menora Tunnel towards Ipoh, caused a 15km-long traffic jam.
According to the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) in a post on X, the incident, reported at 4.28pm on Friday (Sept 11), initially blocked the left lane and caused a 4km traffic congestion.
However, an update at 6.28pm indicated that the congestion had extended to 15km as clean-up operations continued at the site.
"Due to a slope collapse at KM263.6 southbound from the Tunnel towards Ipoh (North), the left lane is blocked. There is a four-kilometre traffic jam.
"Cleanup works are still underway. Traffic congestion spans 15km. Please drive carefully in the rain!" the post stated.
LLM also advised highway users to exercise caution when passing through the area, especially during rainy weather. – Bernama
