Ti Lian Ker dissects what he calls the reality behind the DAP’s myth

 

FORMER MCA leader Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker has reflected on the political narratives surrounding DAP, arguing that the party’s carefully constructed images and symbols often mask deeper realities.

“Those were the days when Lim Guan Eng was elevated by his admirers into ‘Tokong’ (almost a deity), while Hannah Yeoh Tseow Suan was portrayed as the model ‘evangelist’: morally upright, principled and seemingly beyond reproach,” Ti wrote.

He noted that Yeoh’s viral video demanding the prime minister not hold the finance portfolio was celebrated, but when Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim breached that principle, “not a word or sound was heard again”.

Ti added that Malay-centric policies, once promised to be abolished by DAP, were instead continued, with blame shifted to UMNO. He argued that MCA bore the brunt of DAP’s “vicious” cybertrooper attacks, which cultivated public anger and hatred.

“Politics thrives on images, symbols and carefully constructed perceptions. Thus MCA lost mainly to the viciousness and ‘mob’ behaviour of DAP-planted cybertroopers,” he said.

Thanking “karma”, Ti suggested voters have now wised up to DAP’s media strategies. “You must put DAP politicians in the chair with power to see their true selves for real,” he quoted a lawyer friend as saying. —  Focus Malaysia
