Zahid asks ministry to look into free air tickets for B40 students

 Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he had also told the heads of Umno-led state governments to consider providing such tickets to students from their states.

KUALA LUMPUR:
Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has asked the higher education ministry to consider providing free flight tickets to university students from B40 families who are studying outside their home districts.

Speaking at the Umno general assembly, Zahid said he had communicated the matter to higher education minister Zambry Abdul Kadir for consideration.

He said he had also instructed the heads of Umno-led state governments in Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, and Melaka to provide free tickets to B40 students from their states studying in Sabah and Sarawak.
