“WHO did this? Guru! Enough is enough, Guru. Listen to our voices, Guru. Listen to the voices of the rakyat, oh Guru. God-willing, we can do better than what Guru has done,” jibed UMNO president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi at his keynote address in conjunction with the party’s 2026 General Assembly yesterday (Sept 11).
The Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman was touching on the subject of the momentarily reduction and restoration of the Budi Madani RON95 quota which has caused immense hassle to Malaysian motorists.
This eventually prompted a cynical Gen-Z tone response from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim upon his arrival in India for a five-day working visit (Sept 11-15).
Praise be to God, the Guru has safely arrived in New Delhi, India to carry the nation’s name on the global stage at the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit.
Pray that this nation’s diplomatic mission achieves its goals. May the pupil/s learn from their Guru how Madani Diplomacy is implemented. Slayyy
Interestingly, many netizens who in recent times have been mocking PMX in the comment section of his social media posts have surprisingly endeared themselves to PMX by offering words of encouragement and even advice as to how to get even with his “outrageous pupil/s”.
“Solid, teacher. Remember to bring the rotan to give a good caning to the pupil/s for blatant lying and stealing,” insisted one commenter while another teased that “little wonder the pupils are noisy for the teacher isn’t in the class!”
‘Why so timid in front of PMX’
One creative commenter even modified the Malay proverb to paint the scenario of “the teacher pisses standing up but the pupil pisses running off with the plundered treasure while chanting the catch me if you can slogan”.
Others offered self-explanatory memes with one depicting PMX and his so-called “pupil” as “a level between heaven and earth”.
On a more serious note, governance advocate and political commentator Datuk Dr Sivasampoh Kannikuddy took a pot shot at Zahid for his belittling of PMX instead of voicing out his disapproval of PMX’s action/decision back then.
@DrZahidHamidi, when the Cabinet temporarily reduced the quota from 300 to 200 litres because of rising global oil prices and West Asia supply disruptions, what were you doing as Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) – laying eggs in Cabinet?
Why did you not have the courage to question @anwaribrahim during Cabinet meetings? Under Article 43(3) of the Federal Constitution, the Cabinet is collectively responsible for govt decisions.
You can’ remain silent inside Cabinet and then attack the same decision outside when elections approach. If you opposed it, tell the rakyat when and how; otherwise, this “Guru” performance is merely a political stunt.
Truth be told, PMX was badly grilled at the 2026 UMNO General Assembly not only by Zahid but also by the party’s secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki and its youth wing chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh.
As one political observer insinuated, amid a revival of the UMNO-PAS pact to forge ummah unity, it has become more vital for PMX “to remain steadfast with Abang Jo (Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg) and Hajiji (Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor) in Borneo”.
“If BN-UMNO truly wants to declare war, then they should pull out from the Madani government. I want to see if the government falls. That’s if BN-UMNO has the BALLS,” he mocked.
Editor’s Note: Abang Jo and Hajiji Noor also lead the regional political coalitions Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) respectively, thus acting as key kingmakers in Malaysian politics representing Borneo interests.
This was when one commenter hinted that PMX might already have “a formula in place to remain PM for another term”.
“That’s why he’s so calm, unbothered at all by the insults from the Haru-BIRU (moniker for UMNO by Madani backers which depicts a state of chaos/turmoil posed by the party) and toyol HIJAU (green demon) groups.”
Another lamented that the none of the UMNO 2026 General Assembly agenda “has direct benefit for the rakyat”.
“UMNO leaders are only good at talking … making thrash talk … only to make loud noises,” he fumed while hitting out at the party’s self-proclaimed staunch defender of race and religion.
“Just returned from umrah (mini haj) also speaks without manners … what kind of leader will he become in the future … Think for yourself.”
Although UMNO returnee Khairy Jamaluddin (KJ) might have hailed the speech of Zahid who previously sacked him for alleged disciplinary infractions and breaches of party discipline during the 15th General election (GE15) as “sounding like one by the PM-in-waiting”, Madani keyboard warriors have seized the moment to go on the offensive.
Not only that Zahid not yet been granted a full legal acquittal for his 47 criminal breaches of trust (CBT), corruption and money laundering charges, the sakau (plundering od nation’s wealth) subject is reverberating at all corners amid the recent Lembaga Tabung Haji Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) findings and misappropriation of funds in FELDA.
Memes of such moral indecency have flocked the social media in recent times.
