KUALA LUMPUR: Two areas recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 10pm, with Johan Setia in Selangor recording the highest reading at 137.
The Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System showed Nilai in Negri Sembilan recorded the second-highest reading at 131.
A total of 60 other areas recorded moderate air quality, with API readings between 51 and 100, while six areas recorded good air quality, with readings between 0 and 50, out of 68 monitoring stations nationwide.
An API reading of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy and 300 and above hazardous.
The public, particularly those in affected areas, are advised to reduce outdoor physical activity and wear face masks where necessary to reduce health risks. - NST
