Johor continues to grapple with poor air quality

 Twenty-eight locations nationwide record 'unhealthy' API recordings, 40 in the 'moderate' category, and none in the 'good' range.

Johor continued to experience unhealthy air quality this evening with seven areas recording air pollutant index (API) readings of between 171 and 184.

API readings of between zero and 50 are categorised as good, 51 to 100 as moderate, 101 to 200 as unhealthy, 201 to 300 as very unhealthy, and 301 and above as hazardous.

Topping the list of 28 locations with “unhealthy” API readings as of 6pm were Tangkak (184), Pasir Gudang (182), Larkin (180), Segamat and Batu Pahat (174), Kluang (172) and Kota Tinggi (171).

They were followed by Seremban, Negeri Sembilan (170), Pengerang, Johor (170), Tasek, Ipoh, Perak (169), Cheras, Kuala Lumpur (169), Rompin, Pahang (169), Nilai, Negeri Sembilan (167), Pegoh, Ipoh, Perak (164), Alor Gajah, Melaka (164) and Bukit Rambai, Melaka (163).

In Selangor, Shah Alam recorded an API reading of 158, Johan Setia (156) and Petaling Jaya (154).
