Only 14 areas in Peninsular Malaysia recorded unhealthy API readings as of 4pm, with Johor accounting for most of them.

Education minister Fadhlina Sidek said the affected districts are Bangsar and Pudu in Kuala Lumpur, and Hulu Langat, Gombak and Petaling Perdana in Selangor.
“All parents and school communities are urged to refer to official announcements by the education ministry and the respective state and district education departments for further updates,” she said in a Facebook post today.
As of 4pm, 14 areas in Peninsular Malaysia recorded unhealthy API readings, while 48 recorded moderate readings and five recorded good air quality.
Johor recorded the highest API readings, with Pasir Gudang at 177, followed by Larkin (176), Kota Tinggi (165), Pengerang (159), Segamat (158), Kluang (158), Tangkak (158) and Batu Pahat (154).
In Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu recorded an API reading of 162, while Paka recorded 154.
Other areas with unhealthy air quality include Cheras in Kuala Lumpur and Rompin in Pahang at 137 each.
API readings of between zero and 50 are categorised as good, 51 to 100 as moderate, 101 to 200 as unhealthy, 201 to 300 as very unhealthy, and 301 and above as hazardous. - FMT
