Man dies while climbing Gunung Besar Hantu in Negri

SEREMBAN (Bernama): A climber died at the top of Gunung Besar Hantu, Jelebu near here Saturday (Feb 23) afternoon.

Negri Sembilan Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said they had received a report about a climber who had lost consciousness before going to the location, located at a height of 1,200m.

The department received the call at 1.57pm and arrived at the location at 2.40pm, he said.

"The victim, Rashid Harum, 52, whose address was at Seri Kembangan, Selangor, was climbing the mountain with a group of friends.

"However, the victim is reported to have died and efforts to bring down the body of the victim are being carried out," he said, adding that more information would be available later. – Bernama
