Miti FAQ: Supporting industries should apply for MCO exemption too

Malaysiakini

CORONAVIRUS | Businesses which play a role in supporting non-essential services that are exempted from shuttering during movement control order (MCO) period should apply for exemptions as well.
In the International Trade and Industry Ministry's (Miti) FAQ today, the ministry gave several examples of questions from suppliers on whether these supporting businesses could operate during the MCO period as well.
The examples given ranged from spare part shops, tyre producers, raw materials, construction materials, hydraulic hoses, factory equipment and chemicals, among others.
To all these questions, Miti said supporting businesses must put in an application to the ministry's Covid-19 Intelligent Management System (Cims) 2.0 website.
At the time of writing, the website was not accessible. It was shut down for "reconfiguration", hours after it was launched at 9am this morning. Miti has promised that it would be accessible by 6pm today.
Meanwhile, the Miti FAQ also clarified that exempted businesses can operate in "red zones" designated by the Health Ministry, but are still subject to regulations set by the National Security Council and local governments.
Below is the FAQ in full:
