RM12m spent on PM and DPM homes


Nazri Aziz reveals the sums incurred between 2008 and 2011 in maintaining Sri Perdana and Sri Satria.
KUALA LUMPUR: The government spent more than RM12 million to maintain the official residences of the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister between 2008 and 2011.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Nazri Abdul Aziz said RM6,977,401.80 was spent on Seri Perdana, Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak’s residence, and RM5,117,305.26 on Sri Satria, Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s residence.
Nazri said this in a written parliamentary response to Mohd Nasir Zakaria (PAS-Padang Terap).
The highest yearly maintenance cost for Seri Perdana was recorded in 2008, at RM1,896,616.80. For Sri Satria, it was in 2011, and the amount was RM1,455,804.
The Seri Perdana complex sits on a 42.5-acre site along Persiaran Seri Perdana, in Putrajaya’s Precinct 10. It is open to the public for guided tours and walk-in visits from 9am to 3pm every day, except Friday.
Sri Satria is located along Lebuh Perdana Selatan in Precinct 16.
