CRYING NON-STOP, college student admits she threw her new-born baby boy into a rubbish bin
KUALA LUMPUR - A private college student today pleaded guilty in the Magistrate Court here to a charge of concealing the birth of a newborn baby boy by disposing its body in a garbage bin last month.
Norhidayah Yon, 19, entered the plea after the charge against her was read before Magistrate Asyraf Rezal Abdul Manan. Asyraf Rezal fixed Dec 4 for sentencing pending a report by a sociologist.
Norhidayah, who was crying non-stop in the dock, had disposed the body of the baby at a rubbish at Block C, PV6, Platinum Hill Park Condo, Jalan Setapak, Wangsa Maju here at 4am on Oct 28.
She was charged under Section 318 of the Penal Code which carries a maximum sentence of two years' jail or fine, or both. The prosecution was conducted by Deputy Public Prosecutor Ooi Chean Ling while the accused was not represented. – Bernama
