New pump to solve Jerantut water woes

Najib makes immediate grant to restore town's clean water supplies
najib_water_300JERANTUT: Clean water is on the way for 80,000 residents here who have been without treated water supply for the past four days.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak approved an immediate allocation for a new pump for the Batu Embun water treatment plant, that will enable clean water supplies to be restored.
The plant has not been operational after its raw water intake was inundated by the floods.
Najib announced the grant after visiting the plant today. “I have gone to the ground and watched with my own eyes the problems faced by the residents, and to prove the government’s concern, we will try to do our best to alleviate the people’s burden during this difficult time,” he said.
He also visited Batu Embun flood relief centre, where 56 people from 12 families are taking shelter, as well as Sekolah Menengah Seberang Temerloh, before taking a helicopter to visit other flooded areas in Maran and Pekan.
