Penang Dapsy said they want police to investigate Penang Umno members for their provocative actions.
GEORGE TOWN: Penang Dapsy has lodged a police report against Umno members for allegedly burning the DAP flag during a protest at Komtar on Tuesday.
Penang Dapsy assistant secretary Satees Muniandy lodged the report at the Jalan Patani police station Wednesday morning.
Penang Dapsy deputy chief Chris Lee Chun Kit and its Bukit Bendera secretary Syerleena Abdul Rashid accompanied him.
They said they wanted the police to investigate Penang Umno members for their provocative actions.
In the incident in question, a group of Penang Umno members burnt a DAP flag after handing over a memorandum to the Penang Island City Council (MBPP), demanding explanations on the council’s attempt to remove their party’s signage structure at Menara Umno in Jalan Macalister last Friday.
The Umno members were led by their party state secretary Musa Sheikh Fadzir.
Dapsy said the flag burning had threatened public safety and order because it took place in a public area.
