Former law minister: MACC should close shop...

Former law minister Zaid Ibrahim remains unconvinced by attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali's statement that Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak did not commit any offence.
Zaid also zoomed in on Apandi's statement that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) too admitted that the prime minister did not commit any offence.
"If (it is) true MACC says no offence (was) committed by Najib, then MACC should just close shop," he tweeted.
As for the attorney-general, the former minister believes Apandi has secured a spot in history for centuries to come.
"Apandi is the man of the millennium. He will be remembered for a thousand years," Zaid said with sarcasm.

Zaid also indicated that the decision not to charge the prime minister was a forgone conclusion.
"Why some people expected AG to decide otherwise escaped me totally," he tweeted.
According to Zaid, the issue also provides a question for law students.
"Najib, with billions in his accounts, committed no offence. I, who merely asked him to step down, did. Law students must answer this," he said.
Earlier, Apandi told a press conference that MACC has been instructed to close the case concerning the RM2.6 billion and SRC International Sdn Bhd's RM42 million transferred into the prime minister's personal bank accounts.
The AG said based on the three investigation papers, he is satisfied that no offence was committed and therefore, there is no ground to take action. -Mkini
