Do as you please with US$375m gift: Saudi prince's letter to Najib


A Saudi prince gave Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak US$375 million to do as the latter wished, showed a letter purportedly from Prince Saud Abdul Aziz.
The letter dated Nov 1, 2011 stated the "gift" was in recognition of "the significant work that you (Najib) have done to govern Malaysia using Islamic principles".
"Your suggestion to launch the Global Movement of Moderates shows a modern way of dealing with issues on international terrorism and extremist groups…
"You shall have absolute discretion to determine how the gift shall be utilised and I am confident that your actions will continue to promote Islam so it continues to flourish.
"This is merely a token gesture on my part by it is my way of contributing to the development of Islam to the world," read the letter published by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).
Malaysiakini has contacted the Prime Minister's Office and the Saudi embassy in Kuala Lumpur for a response.
