MUKHRIZ BOMBSHELL: NAJIB HAS STRUCK A DEAL WITH HADI - KEDAH, T'GANU & KELANTAN TO BE 'GIVEN' TO PAS
Former Kedah menteri besar Mukhriz Mahathir suspects an Umno-PAS deal which could see a "trade-off" involving Kedah, Terengganu and Kelantan.
"There must be a deal. They are trying to bring PAS and Umno together. There must be some trade-off for PAS. I see Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah (going) back to PAS...," he told reporters today.
He said this at his first public appearance after his sacking from Umno last Friday.
"So in my mind, this is a warning for Kedah Umno. Be prepared to hand over the state to PAS because the signs are there," he said at the press conference at the Universiti Malaya Alumni Association clubhouse.
Asked whether the cooperation would be in the form of a unity government, Mukhriz said: "Not a unity government. They will hand it over to PAS. That is my view."
Also at the press conference was former Umno number two Muhyiddin Yassin, who was also given the boot last Friday.
In denying allegations that he had conspired with the opposition to topple BN, Mukhriz said even with his sacking, the Kedah government remained stable with BN maintaining a five-seat majority in the state assembly.
This, he said, was unlike in Terengganu where BN only has a two-seat majority against the PAS-led opposition.
Mukhriz lamented that there appears to be hypocrisy in Umno as no action was taken against former Terengganu menteri besar Ahmad Said, who had filed a motion of no confidence against his successor, Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman.
"If I wanted to truly betray BN, in my last moments as Kedah menteri besar, I still had the option to advise for the state assembly to be dissolved.
"I think we all can guess what will happen if the Kedah state election was called," he said.
Also present at the press conference were leaders from Gabungan Ketua Cawangan Umno Malaysia, Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar and several Parti Amanah Negara leaders from Johor.
