Preacher Wan Ji lodges report against Pahang mufti

A PKR Youth leader and popular preacher has lodged a police report against Pahang mufti Abdul Rahman Osman over the latter's proclamation of DAP as 'kafir harbi'.
PKR Youth's religious bureau chief Wan Ji Wan Hussin, lodging the report at Dang Wangi police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur at 11.45am said the statement is a serious matter that warrants police attention.
"This police report is made considering the matter is too serious, and we ask that elements that call for the spilling of blood be avoided.
"Therefore the police should view this seriously," he said, adding recent threats by the terrorist group Islamic State (IS) at home make the mufti's statement all the more worrying.

Last Friday the mufti was reported by Utusan Malaysia calling DAP 'kafir harbi' for opposing PAS' move to implement hudud in Kelantan, painting the party as anti-Islam.
The term for non-Muslims who wage war against Islam implies those so labelled can be killed.
PKR central committee member Latheefa Koya on Saturday called the statement dangerous and irresponsible, and slammed the prime minister for his silence on the mufti's actions as it opened the door to potential violence.
PKR senator Muhammad Nur Manuty meanwhile called the statement a "desperate" and "cheap political propaganda tool" by the ruling party.
