Driver killed, 15 hurt in Genting bus crash

Accident involving busload of tourists from China occurs while bus was coming down Genting Highlands.

PETALING JAYA: One person was killed and several others injured when a bus landed on its side while coming down Genting Highlands this evening.
NST Online said 27 passengers were on the bus. All of them were tourists from China.
Bentong District Police Chief Superintendent Mohamad Mansor Mohd said the incident occurred at the first checkpoint while going down the highlands at 7.20pm.
The bus driver was killed in the accident.
Firemen were summoned to extricate his body.
Fifteen injured passengers were taken to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
The rest, who were not injured, were brought back to their hotel.
This is the second incident involving a bus with tourists meeting with an accident over the past 24 hours.
Yesterday, a bus coming down from Cameron Highlands landed on its side along the road leading to Simpang Pulai.
Of the 29 on board, a local woman and 21 foreign tourists were injured.
