NAJIB & CO THINK TWICE ABOUT BULLYING VINCENT TAN’S SON: UMNO YOUTH EXCO U-TURNS ON LODGING REPORT AGAINST CORPORATE BIGWIGS

Umno Youth exco leader Armand Azha Abu Hanifah has decided not to file a police report against a business tycoon’s son and the alleged proxy of another corporate leader.
He said this is because the information provided to him that the pair were funding a campaign to topple Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak is inaccurate.
Armand said checks and cross-checks were carried out on the documents he had received over the weekend.
“After we collected all the evidence, we found out that the information given was not authentic.
“So as a political party of the ruling government, it is our responsibility as members not to report on something false,” he told reporters outside the Dang Wangi district police headquarters this morning.
In a media brief yesterday, Armand said he was informed of the pair’s link to the campaign and would file a report at the police station here today.

Armand had named the two corporate figures but Malaysiakini is withholding their identities.
The Umno Youth leader, meanwhile, declined to reveal the source of the seven-page document.
However, he stressed that he was showing a good example by not lodging a report based on false information.
“It’s not about being glamorous. If it’s not genuine, we don’t report it because it is wrong.”
Armand added he had proved today that being responsible means not doing the wrong thing.
“I’m here today to tell the media that after I received information and after checking its authenticity, the documents given were not authentic.
“I’m a responsible person, I don’t want to send a WhatsApp message saying I will not come here today, (I) might as well come and state that the documents are false, as such, no police report was lodged,” he said.
“We don’t want to lodge a report based on fake documents. We will only look stupid after police find that the documents are false.”
Leaders, he said, must be wise and should always check the authenticity of any purported evidence.
Meanwhile, Armand urged anyone with information on secret movements to topple Najib, to submit relevant documents to him so that he could verify their authenticity.
“If it is genuine, we will exercise our duty as party members to defend Umno as well as our top leaders.”
Armand is the second Umno Youth leader who has alleged the existence of a purported plot to topple Najib.
In July, Umno Youth vice-chief Khairul Azwan Harun filed a report against ex-Bank Negara governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz, former attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail and former Malaysian Anti-Corruption (MACC) commissioner Abu Kassim Mohamed.
He accused them them of furnishing classified information to foreign agencies without authorisation, in order to oust Najib.
However, inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar said that Azwan’s report was based on assumptions.
