KLANG: A couple’s plans to get married in February were dashed when they were killed in a hit-and-run accident in Jalan Pelabuhan Barat here early today.
Arifshah Lingam Munandy, 39, and his girlfriend, Nor Aishah Abdullah, 35, died on the spot in the accident at 4.40am. They sustained head injuries.
Klang Selatan police chief ACP Alzafny Ahmad said Nur Aishah’s five-year-old son, who was also riding pillion, sustained minor injuries and was treated at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital.
The couple and the boy were heading towards Shah Alam when their motorcycle was hit from the rear by a hit-and-run motorist, he said in a statement.
Arifshah’s sister M Parameswary, 40, said her brother converted to Islam two years ago and had planned to marry Aishah in early February.
The boy is Aishah’s son from her previous marriage, she said.
“Aishah’s house was near my brother’s house in Pandamaran. When the incident occurred, they were on their way to work in Bandar Puteri.
“My sister is babysitting the boy when they go to work,” she said when met at the hospital.
Parameswary appealed to witnesses to come forward and assist the police in the investigation.-FMT
