Selangor PKR rep dismisses defection rumour

Selangor PKR lawmakers are loyal to the Selangor administration as led by Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali, said Sementa assemblyperson Daroyah Alwi.
Dismissing rumours that four PKR assemblypersons would defect to form a new coalition government in the state, Daroyah said the rumours were news to her.
"I have not heard about this. God willing, I remain steadfast with the party," she said, according to Sinar Harian today.
It was also reported that Selangor PKR information chief Shuhaimi Shafiei had described this rumour was "mere propaganda".
Dissolution of state assembly?
Meanwhile, Daroyah also put to rest rumours that Mohamed Azmin would be meeting Pakatan Harapan assemblypersons next week on the dissolution of the state assembly.
This follows the PAS muktamar's decision to break ties with PKR.
"We haven't heard anything about that. Anyway, the MB is busy with a road show this week to several states.
"Actually, he is also leaving to the Middle East tonight (last night) for a working visit to Morocco, Jordan and Egypt for five days," she said.
The PAS muktamar formally endorsed a proposal to sever ties with PKR, subject to the approval of the party's syura council.
Though PAS had severed all ties with DAP two years ago in a similar fashion, the Islamic party and PKR had enjoyed a working relationship until recently.
Among the reasons given by ulama wing delegate Zulkifli Ismail, who tabled the motion to sever ties with PKR, were PKR's support for Amanah during the Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Besar by-elections last year.

Another reason was that PKR did not support PAS' efforts to amend the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965, better known as Act 355.
"Instead, they were standing with DAP which strongly opposed the amendments to Act 355.
"PKR leaders' public statements, which were clearly kurang ajar (uncouth), showed how rude they are to PAS, which does not reflect their loyalty to friends," Zulkifli had said.- Mkini
