Is DAP fighting for the rakyat or for private developers, asks BN man

BN strategic communications deputy director Eric See-To has questioned if DAP is fighting for private developers instead of the interests of the rakyat.
He was responding to DAP lawmaker Tony Pua, who had accused the government of circumventing the Cabinet’s blanket ban on luxury property development just to protect the interests of 1MDB.
Pua’s accusation followed Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor telling Parliament yesterday that approval "in principle" had been given to both the Bandar Malaysia and Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) projects.

See-To said the reaction from Pua (photo) showed how DAP was “all about attacking 1MDB and not about the country and the rakyat.”
“I am not sure why DAP has a problem with 1MDB and the government carrying its rationalisation plans to clear 1MDB's debts. Why is there a need to sabotage 1MDB?
“This shows how malicious DAP is and how it is a party that is against the country's interests.
“They would rather see the government's plans fail so that they have the political capital to attack, rather than see our plans becoming a success for the benefit of the people,” said See-To in a statement today.
Pointing out how Bandar Malaysia will be the last terminal station for the High Speed Rail (HSR) project in Malaysia, See-To said Singapore was already planning to develop the area surrounding its HSR terminus at Jurong East into the country's second central business district.

This, he added, is despite Singapore also grappling with the same commercial and retail property oversupply issues as Malaysia.
It was Bank Negara’s report on the oversupply of non-affordable homes and idle commercial space that had led to the Cabinet moratorium on luxury developments in Kuala Lumpur.
“Malaysia plans to do the same around the Bandar Malaysia HSR station so that international travellers who take the train from the Singapore stations will also arrive at an impressive development that can rival what Singapore has in plan.
“Why does DAP want to deprive Malaysia of what Singapore is also doing?” he asked.
See-To also took issue with Pua saying that the Bandar Malaysia and TRX projects get special treatment, which discriminates against private businesses.
“What is the problem with DAP that national-level iconic projects crucial to our country's development and image are not allowed special treatment, and should be stopped in favour of projects from private developers?
“Why is DAP such a pro-developer party?” See-To asked.- Mkini
