Hannah Yeoh: Cancel MRT3 but improve bus service in Bukit Kiara

Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh said she is in favour of the MRT3 project being cancelled for now.
"I agree with the cancellation of MRT3 for now. We should study the pros and cons of existing MRT & LRT use and its effectiveness in reducing jam," she said in a Facebook post today.
She said the government should instead channel funds into increasing and extending bus services in her constituency.
An efficient bus service will avoid building more structures in the Mont Kiara area, she said, which already has multiple layers of flyovers.
"Jalan Duta, Mont Kiara, Sri Hartamas, Pusat Sains Negara, Bukit Kiara and Pusat Bandar Damansara are in need of public transportation because of the high density of population there," she said.
She also criticised the state of the LRT service now, which she called "half-baked" with a lack of extensive feeder bus services and parking facilities, which forces many to stick to driving.
On the other hand, she said the Transport Ministry should also review toll charges around the Klang Valley in a comprehensive move to maximise the usage of existing roads and infrastructure.
Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad had announced the cancellation of the MRT3 line on Wednesday.
The MRT3 line was supposed to have several stations throughout the Bukit Kiara area, which does not currently have any LRT or MRT stations nearby. -Mkini
