Najib withdraws suit against Harakah

Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak has withdrawn his defamation suit against PAS mouthpiece Harakah Daily and two others at the Kuala Lumpur High Court.
This is over Harakah's report based on a New York Times article over 1MDB and Najib's stepson Riza Aziz.
The withdrawal comes with terms that are undisclosed.
PAS lawyer Wan Rohimi Wan Daud, when contacted by Malaysiakini, confirmed the withdrawal.
"The withdrawal is without liberty to file afresh with terms undisclosed.
"The withdrawal of the suit was recorded by Justice Hue Siew Kheng," he said.
The suit against Harakah by Najib was among the first filed by the former premier in 2014.
This is the third withdrawal by Najib of defamation suits filed by him.
In the past two weeks, Najib has withdrawn his suit against former MCA president Dr Ling Liong Sik and Damansara MP Tony Pua.
Najib had in 2015, sued Harakah, its managing director Rosli Yaakop and chief editor Taufek Yahya, following the article, which he alleged portrayed him as having misused 1MDB funds and that the publication of the article was intended to tarnish his reputation. -Mkini
