Khir Toyo perplexed at how 'fugitive' Jamal could be retained

Former Selangor menteri besar Mohamad Khir Toyo is so perplexed at the willingness of Umno delegates to vote for a fugitive that he is mulling to quit the party.
This is according to Sinar Harian, which quoted a purported Whatsapp message sent out by Khir yesterday which went viral.
The message had read: "My friends, I am sorry as I will be leaving Umno's struggle as I cannot figure out how someone like Jamal Yunos could be elected as division chief.
"A person who is being hunted by police and has criminal cases piling against him could still be elected because of money".
However, Khir had refused to confirm or deny the message when contacted by the Malay daily.
He merely said that he will be calling a press conference soon.
Jamal comfortably retained the position of Sungai Besar Umno chief against his challenger Masloro Abdullah.

Khir had also sought for the position of Sungai Besar Umno chief but was disqualified due to a previous corruption conviction.
Jamal is wanted by cops for various alleged offences, including displaying a firearm and disorderly conduct.
Police claimed Jamal had fled the country and is hiding in Indonesia. -Mkini
