'Wild' party in Taiping, student among 46 held

A secondary school student was among 46 people arrested by police at a "wild" party at a homestay in Taiping, Perak today.
Taiping District police chief Mohamad Taib said those arrested at the homestay at Jalan Regat Muzaffar Shah, Assam Kumbang, at 8.15am, comprised 14 women and 32 men aged between 17 and 24.
Thirty-four of them tested positive for drugs and police also found various types of drugs, as well as dried leaves, believed to be marijuana, at the premises, he said in a statement.
Mohamad said the police also arrested a man who claimed to be the organiser and tenant of the premises.
They also seized music equipment as the premises did not have a valid license to run the place as an entertainment centre.
He said the case was being investigated under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and the Entertainment and Places of Entertainment Enactment 1997.
