I'm always patient and confident, says Anwar

PKR president Anwar Ibrahim sidestepped questions on whether he has secured enough support from federal lawmakers to be prime minister.
Quizzed on this, he said: “Numbers is the prerogative of the king. We are not supposed to play with numbers.”
On whether he is confident about the numbers, he replied: “Alhamdulilah, thank God. I am always confident. I am always patient and confident... God willing, everything goes well.”
Asked if Harapan lawmakers had nominated him for the prime minister's post, Anwar said this would be revealed at a press conference at the PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya at 4.30pm, where he is expected to make a “majour announcement.”
“The PC is 4:30pm insyallah,” he said.
The PKR president also denied that he had struck a deal with Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who is now serving as the interim prime minister.
“No deals, we will discuss at 4:30pm,” he said when quizzed on this.
Meanwhile, PKR communications chief Fahmi Fadzil cautioned against media reports quoting sources on which political leader had the most support from lawmakers.
He was responding to a Singapore Straits Times report that all 92 MPs from DAP, PKR and Amanah backed PKR president Anwar Ibrahim during their audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
He described the speculation as baseless.
The Lembah Pantai MP also recalled his audience with the king this morning.
“Having been through the process, only YDPA (Agong) would really know. I urge caution in reading these speculative articles, claiming 'sources'.
“How can the 'source' really know exactly the number? When we stand before the YDP Agong, we are practically alone before him.
“In my case, His Majesty did not even look at my SD (statutory declaration). Right after I left, it was another MP. So be careful when quoting 'sources',” he added. - Mkini
