Socso launches reality show 'Luar Biasa'

The Social Security Organisation (Socso) has produced a new reality television programme known as ‘Luar Biasa’ (Extraordinary) which features the stories and experiences of 'Return To Work (RTW)' participants.

Socso chief executive officer Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed said the 13-episode programme would be aired every Friday at 9pm beginning this week on channel 105 Astro Prima and was the agency's fourth production related to RTW success stories.

He said in 2016, Socso produced the ‘Dahsyatnya Perkeso’ programme, followed by ‘Inspirasi Harapan’ a year later, and ‘Bangkit #PerkesoPrihatin’ in 2018.

"In our fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, Socso has once again repeated its success in producing a television programme that chronicles the journey of RTW participants through the twists and turns of life after suffering a disaster, accident or illness.

"This programme also tells the story of people insured by Socso who have bounced back after suffering from disasters and misery and are now independent, and even contribute back to the community," he said when launching the ‘Luar Biasa’ programme online yesterday.

RTW, introduced by Socso in 2007, is a disability management programme designed to help rehabilitate contributors who are injured and have fallen ill to return to work earlier, healthier and safer through several physical rehabilitation or training processes.

Elaborating further on Socso's RTW programme, Mohammed Azman said from its inception until May 14 this year, a total of 36,159 participants had successfully returned to work through cooperation among all stakeholders.

"Therefore, in an effort to further increase participation in the RTW programme, the effort to produce the ‘Luar Biasa’ programme is the best step to promote and provide an understanding of Socso's activities," he said.

Meanwhile, Celebrate TV Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Fariz Hamdi Mohd Noor said apart from featuring the stories of the contributors, the ‘Luar Biasa’ programme also highlighted the role of Socso's workforce, which always strived to help participants when faced with various tests.

He said the programme hosted by actor Norman Hakim and singer Shiha Zikir could also be seen on Socso's YouTube and Facebook channels three days after it is broadcast on Astro Prima.
