Covid-19 (July 30): 4,271 new cases, 4 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 4,271 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 4,677,270.

Active cases currently stood at 47,014, up 10.7 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Selangor (1,972)
Kuala Lumpur (723)
Perak (280)
Sabah (251)
Negeri Sembilan (221)
Penang (191)
Malacca (121)
Kedah (97)
Johor (90)
Sarawak (78)
Putrajaya (70)
Pahang (69)
Kelantan (57)
Labuan (19)
Terengganu (17)
Perlis (15)


Another four deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which one was declared as “brought in dead”.

Over the past week, an average of seven people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 6.5, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 35,960 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

The deaths occurred in Malacca (1), Perak (1), Sabah (1), and Terengganu (1).

There are 1,446 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of which 62 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (148), followed by Johor (75) and Sabah (63). - Mkini
