PETALING JAYA: Hamzah Zainudin has sidestepped queries on the authenticity of an alleged agreement between Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Perikatan Nasional chairman Muhyiddin Yassin leaked by blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin.

According to the leaked document, the prime minister had purportedly agreed to expedite the criminal court cases of former prime minister Najib Razak and Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“You want to know if the letter is real? Why don’t you ask Raja Petra, he is the one who leaked the letter,” the PN secretary-general told reporters after being asked to confirm the authenticity of the letter.

Copies of the letter, containing 10 points, made their rounds in July. However, points 7, 8, and 9 were redacted.

Former Umno Supreme Council member Lokman Adam recently landed himself in hot water by posting a video on Facebook where he revealed the alleged contents of the redacted points.

He also claimed that, based on the letter, Ismail agreed to retain Attorney-General Idrus Harun. Idrus was appointed AG after Muhyiddin took office as the eighth prime minister.
