Missing 14-year-old boy back home, say police

A 14-year-old boy, Effzaldanish Effendy, who was reported missing on Sunday, returned home today, Johor police chief M Kumar said.

He said the teenager’s family reported the matter to the police at around 11.30am. Kumar added that the Muar police headquarters is conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.

He said the boy did not suffer any serious injury and advised the public to wait for the results of the investigation as well as the official statement from the police.

The family reported that the boy returned home on his own. When questioned, he said he was in the area throughout the time he was reported missing,
 Kumar told reporters.

Kumar advised parents to keep an eye on their children, adding that parents must monitor their children’s movement, including their travel to and from school as well as their social interactions.

The boy did not return to his home in Jalan Kerayong, Rumah Rakyat 1 Pagoh, on Sunday after attending school at SMK Sultan Alauddin Riayat Shah 1, just 200m from his house. - FMT
