PETALING JAYA
Gabungan Rakyat Sabah, will establish a committee to discuss the next state assembly elections with its partners and allies, and remain open to discussions with other parties, says GRS chairman Hajiji Noor.

Hajiji, who is also the Sabah chief minister, said the committee would engage with its state government allies, particularly Pakatan Harapan and remain open to dialogues with other parties if it benefits the state and its people.

“Our focus is first on discussions with our partners in the state government,” he told reporters after chairing the party’s Supreme Council meeting in Kota Kinabalu today, Bernama reported.

He said no date had been set for discussions on seat allocation among GRS component parties and their allies.

GRS won 38 seats at the last state election in 2020 and has formed a government supported by PH. Barisan Nasional sits in the opposition in the Sabah assembly.

BN and GRS have both said they would work with PH at the next Sabah elections, which are expected to be held by October next year at the latest. - FMT
