PETALING JAYA:
An elderly man was injured on the face and body after being attacked with a knife in an apparent misunderstanding at an eatery in Kapar, Klang, yesterday.

North Klang police chief S Vijaya Rao said the victim, aged 69, was with a friend when they were approached by a group about 6.09am, Bernama reported.

He said the victim’s friend ignored remarks made by the group, which led one of the suspects to pull out a knife and suddenly slash the victim.

“Before leaving, the group also threatened to shoot the victim’s friend.”

The victim is currently in stable condition and receiving treatment at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.

Vijaya said, acting on information, police arrested a suspect yesterday. The suspect has 11 prior records, including three for drug offences.

He has been remanded for three days to assist in investigations.

Police are tracking down the remaining two suspects. - FMT
