Victim in BU school murder had 180 stab, slash wounds, court told

 Forensic pathologist says the 16-year-old victim died from multiple stab wounds to the neck and chest.

The trial of the 15-year-old boy charged with murdering the victim, 16, began at the Shah Alam High Court today.

The 16-year-old girl allegedly murdered by a schoolmate at a Bandar Utama school last year had at least 180 stab and slash wounds on various parts of her body, the Shah Alam High Court was told today.

Forensic pathologist Dr Koo Zhao Peng, the main prosecution witness, said the victim also suffered injuries to her carotid arteries and jugular veins.

Koo attributed the cause of death to multiple stab wounds to the neck and chest, Berita Harian reported.

Today was the first day of the trial of the 15-year-old boy, identified in court as L, charged with killing the victim in a toilet at SMK Bandar Utama Damansara (4) on Oct 14 last year.

The proceedings are being held in camera since the case involves a juvenile.

The accused’s lawyer, Kitson Foong, said three knives have been furnished as case items, and only one matched the wounds found on the victim.

He said the prosecution’s second witness was the victim’s mother, who confirmed her daughter’s identity before the court and recounted her experience on the day of the incident.

The third prosecution witness, school principal Hafizi Shafi’in, told the court that after being informed about the incident, he saw the accused exiting the toilet while wearing black gloves and holding a knife.

Deputy public prosecutors Raja Zaizul Faridah Raja Zaharudin, Aqharie Durranie Aziz and Ahmad Iqbal Azman prosecuted.

The trial before Justice Adlin Abdul Majid continues tomorrow. - FMT
