Warisan’s Yusof Apdal denies quitting as deputy minister

 The deputy science, technology and innovation minister says claims circulating on social media are false and malicious.

PETALING JAYA:

Warisan’s Lahad Datu MP Yusof Apdal has denied resigning as deputy minister in the federal government.

The deputy science, technology and innovation minister said the claims circulating on social media were false and malicious.

“I remain a member of the unity government administration and will continue to carry out the trust and responsibilities entrusted to me,” Bernama quoted him as saying.

Yusof, who is the sole Warisan politician holding a federal government post, said the spread of false information could mislead the public and tarnish his reputation.

He also urged the public not to share unverified information and to refer to official sources for accurate information.

A social media post that went viral earlier claimed that Yusof had decided to resign as deputy minister with effect from today. - FMT
